Ah, the neverending quest for motes Burning Crusade has brought us. Sometimes fun, sometimes a pain, but always an adventure, Blizzard has fortunately graced players with relatively high drop rates for these items. So it really isn%26#8217;t hard to farm many in a short period. But seasoned WoW players know that drop rates are only part of the story when figuring out the best places to grind motes for WoW gold.

I just found out about a great spot to farm Motes of Air (WowEcon | Wowhead). It%26#8217;s located in Shadowmoon Valley (Wowhead | WowWiki) north of the Altar of Sha%26#8217;tar and just to the west east of Oronok Tornheart%26#8217;s farm.

There are a large number of Enraged Air Spirits here; they respawn fast and have a 25.7% drop rate for Motes of Air. There are also quite a few Scorchshell Pincers intermingling with the elementals which almost always drop Envenomed Scorpid Stingers (80.2% drop rate), which vendor for nearly 12 silver a piece. They also drop Vicious Scorpid Claw (19.1% drop rate) which vendor for more than 13 silver each. That adds up quick!

What makes this such an awesome spot is that nobody seems to know about it yet, so you don%26#8217;t have to deal with the %26#8220;crowds.%26#8221; I decided to pop in on this spot for a few minutes today and it was completely dead on my realm. Nothing but elementals and scorpids for days. Time to get to grinding!

Once you have farmed your stacks of Motes of Air, you should list them on the auction house in order to make the most gold. WowEcon currently sets the average price at about 2.5 gold.

If you%26#8217;re still not sure how to effectively use the auction house, or want to increase your skill at manipulating it, you should read Valkor%26#8217;s Gold-Making Guide. It has a really good auction house tutorial that will take you from beginner to advanced in a few days. I also highly recommend this guide as an investment, because it has a lot more than just auction house tips (currently its up to 108 pages!) and it%26#8217;s updated a lot. Trying to become a master auctioneer without this guide is like trying to graduate from college with no textbooks - it ain%26#8217;t gonna happen!
