Easy Godl for PVP Enchanters in Nagrand

Quick Gold for Enchanters - Halaa, Nagrand

The truly savvy WoW gold farmers know that out of all the gold-making professions out there, the best is Enchanting. That%26#8217;s probably why all these gold guides you read on the Internet never mention it - the writers want to keep that market for themselves!

It%26#8217;s true. Skinning and Herbalism are great gold-makers, don%26#8217;t get me wrong. And since the release of Burning Crusade, Mining has become by far the most valuable of the these three traditional %26#8220;gathering%26#8221; professions. But what a lot of players don%26#8217;t realize is that Enchanting is also an extremely useful gathering profession that will in the end (and in my opinion) net you more gold on the auction house than the other three combined.

The reason is due to the fact that there is a never-ending and seemingly insatiable demand for enchanting materials. I can%26#8217;t remember if I%26#8217;ve ever listed an enchanting mat that didn%26#8217;t sell, regardless of whether it%26#8217;s low- or high-level. Plus (BIG plus), all enchanting materials are listed for free on the auction house - that%26#8217;s right: regardless of their level, there is never an auction house fee.

I recently found a great limited-sell green item that sells for relatively cheap and can be disenchanted for huge profits from your faction%26#8217;s Blade Merchant in Halaa, the world PVP stronghold located in Nagrand (Wowhead | WowWiki).

  • Alliance: Avenging Blades (cost: 2.21 gold)

  • Horde: The Sharp Cookie (cost: 2.21 gold)

These are both essentially the same item and are Bind-On-Pickup (BOP) (hence no WowEcon data for the item itself) and alone are pretty decent items for Rogues or other DPS melee classes. The Alliance Blade Merchant is Aldraan while the Horde%26#8217;s Blade Merchant is Coreiel.

These vendors sell three of these bad boys at a time and they appear to be on a (roughly) two-hour timer. Both have a chance to be disenchanted into the following:

  • 1-2 Greater Planar Essence (WowEcon | Wowhead)

  • 2-5 Arcane Dust (WowEcon | Wowhead)

  • 1 Large Prismatic Shard (WowEcon | Wowhead)

If you are an experienced enchanter you already know that like all green weapons, they will most often disenchant into the essences and occasionally into dust. Green items disenchant into shards very rarely - but I have had plenty of green items turn into shards for me, so it is by far not that uncommon.

By studying the WowEcon data, you see that all three of these items are worth a lot more than what you pay for the actual blades. And that%26#8217;s for just one of the disenchanted mats. Remember that your chances of getting more than one mat out of the disenchant is pretty good.

The only real downside to this is that it is in Halaa, meaning you will need to track it%26#8217;s status and take advantage every time it passes into your faction%26#8217;s control. If you are farming motes in Nagrand a lot, this shouldn%26#8217;t be a problem. In fact, this makes a great side gold-maker to break up the mote-farming monotony.

If you are having problems listing these or any other item on the auction house, I recommend reading Valkor%26#8217;s Gold-Making Guide. I still use this guide every day - it teaches all the 100% legal ways to own the auction house and also has some great references (my favorite is the list of every single limited-sell pattern vendor in the game). At 120 pages, it is the most comprehensive guide you can get!
