lui vitonIn the last post, I talked about the best and brightest celebrities-turned-designers who have decided to grace us common folk with their sense of style and design, all for a relatively large price. These talented celebrities (like Victoria Beckham) have pulled off the feat of ably designing a full clothing line with accessories, recently debuting a new line of western style handbags at New York’s most recent Fashion Week. I guess this is a new habit of exquisite celebrity designers because it seems that the Olsen Twins are following suit.
According to Waleg, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen have debuted a new line of handbags – which you may be able to find now in your local boutique, seeing as they started a rollout of the bags quite recently. The handbags will most likely be designed in the vein as the clothes the twins have made under their label The Row:
“With the success of their fashion lines The Row, as well as Elizabeth and James no one will doubt the Olsen twins’ business acumen. They are among the most successful celebrity-turned-businesswomen these days. However, these two are still not content with the products they are offering so they will be adding more, particularly to The Row brand.louisvuittonhandbags
The items they will be adding first to the line are handbags which will find their way in stores beginning Fall 2010. And their vision for The Row doesn’t stop there. Shoes will follow soon after the handbags.”
So far, I’m not quite sure these bags were actually released yet, as the article states. There are no reviews or sightings of unknown handbags on any celebrities, never mind Mary Kate or Ashley. However, this is a sign that celebrities are still showing their chops on the runway aptly and the Olsen Twins are showing no signs of stopping that trend.
